I’m in my mid twenties and expecting my first baby this October. None of my friends in Chicago have kids. (Nor are they on the baby track) I know everyone is excited for me and they have been completely supportive but the more pregnant I become the less we have in common. I’m starting to feel isolated and alone. This has been an extremely difficult transition for me. I’m looking to put together a group of bump buddies and new moms in the Bucktown/Wicker park area, that are in their mid to upper …

Looking to meet up with other daughters in the Chicago area that have lost their mothers to a terminal illness such as cancer. There are many bereavement groups in Chicago for people that are grieving over their mom's death but almost none exist for women in their 20's, 30's, and early 40's. I just lost my mom to pancreatic cancer and want to gather other women like me that want to share experiences, memories, and friendship. Park Ridge, Arlington Heights, Palatine, Schaumburg, and Chicago are a …

This group is for fathers of children with Aspergers Syndrome (and PDD-NOS) to get together and share the unique experience of being a father of a child with AS, and to arrange recreational activities for the kids too. The reason this is designed for fathers specifically is that almost all of the support groups I have seen on this topic are for mothers, or are dominated by mothers. Parenting AS affects men in a unique way, and Aspie kids need male presence that meets their needs too.
